1. Park the bus on a flat and hard ground, turn off the engine, and wait for the rear wheel hub parts to cool completely. Fix the vehicle with hand brake and wheel chocks to ensure safe construction.
2. Remove the rear wheel tires, brake accessories and hub assembly in sequence, and drain the residual lubricating grease and gear oil inside the hub.
3. Remove the old oil seal completely, and thoroughly clean the oil seal installation groove to remove dirt, iron scraps, aging rubber residues and impurities.
4. Check the new rear wheel inner or outer oil seal for damage, deformation or defective rubber surface. Apply a thin layer of clean lubricating grease on the sealing lip and outer ring.
5. Align the new oil seal vertically with the installation groove, use a professional pressing tool to press it evenly and slowly into the groove until the oil seal is flat and fully seated without skew or gap.
6. Reinstall the hub assembly, brake parts and tires in reverse installation order, and fasten all bolts according to standard torque.
7. Add qualified new lubricating grease and gear oil to the hub, conduct idle running test, and confirm no oil leakage at the oil seal installation position.
1. Do not install the oil seal when the hub is in a high-temperature state, to avoid rubber thermal deformation, installation deviation and subsequent oil leakage failure.
2. Violent knocking with hard tools such as hammers is prohibited during installation, which will damage the oil seal rubber lip and metal skeleton and destroy the sealing performance.
3. The installation groove must be kept clean and free of impurities. Residual iron scraps and dirt will scratch the new oil seal and cause early leakage.
4. Select the inner or outer rear wheel oil seal with matching size strictly according to the bus model and hub parameters, mismatched sizes will cause poor fitting and sealing failure.
5. Ensure the oil seal is installed horizontally and completely in place. Skewed and incomplete installation will lead to uneven stress and rapid wear of the sealing surface.
6. Do not drive at high speed or with full load immediately after installation. Idle running for 10-15 minutes to make the sealing lip fit closely with the shaft.
7. Check the oil seal and hub lubrication status regularly in daily maintenance, and replace aging and worn oil seals in time to avoid hub failure and driving safety hazards.
