Purpose

This 13HA3-11001 water level sensor is a special spare part for city buses and coaches. It monitors the coolant liquid level of the auxiliary water tank in the vehicle cooling system in real time. When the coolant level drops below the safe value, the sensor outputs an alarm signal to the vehicle instrument and controller to remind the driver to replenish coolant, effectively avoiding engine overheating and cylinder damage caused by insufficient cooling liquid, and guaranteeing the safe operation of the bus.

Installation Steps

1. Turn off the engine and cut off the whole vehicle power supply. Wait until the engine coolant temperature drops to normal temperature to prevent scalding.

2. Prepare matching sealing ring and installation tools, remove the old water level sensor from the auxiliary water tank.

3. Clean impurities and residual coolant at the threaded mounting hole of the auxiliary water tank.

4. Fit the silicone sealing ring on the new 13HA3-11001 sensor, align the M38×2.5 thread with the mounting hole, screw it in manually first, then tighten moderately. Do not use excessive torque.

5. Connect the sensor wire harness to the vehicle matching 2-pin connector, confirm the connector is locked firmly without loosening.

6. Add qualified coolant into the auxiliary water tank, switch on the vehicle power supply, check whether the liquid level alarm function works normally and whether there is liquid leakage at the threaded joint.

Notes

1. Installation and disassembly must be carried out after the engine cools down completely to avoid high-temperature coolant scald injury.

2. Do not squeeze, knock or drop the sensor before installation, which may damage the internal floating ball sensing assembly.

3. Do not over-tighten the thread. Excessive force will cause thread damage, shell cracking and coolant leakage.

4. Confirm the waterproof connector is fully locked. Poor contact will lead to abnormal signal and system false alarm.

5. It is forbidden to disassemble and modify the internal floating ball structure privately if the sensor fails; replace the whole sensor directly.

6. Check the sensor and sealing ring regularly during vehicle maintenance to prevent aging and liquid leakage.

7. Store spare sensors in a dry and ventilated environment, keep away from corrosive liquid and high-temperature environment.
