Description

Lanthanum fluoride is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula LaF₃. It appears as a white powder with a density of 2.52 g/cm³, a melting point of 1,552°C, and a boiling point >2,200°C. It is insoluble in water and resistant to hydrochloric, nitric, and sulfuric acids but soluble in perchloric acid. It exhibits hygroscopic properties in air and remains relatively stable.

Production Process
  1. Purification of chloride salt raw materials to remove impurities, followed by carbonation via CO₂ to form carbonate
  2. Reaction with high-purity fluorine in specialized equipment to produce fluoride
  3. The product is washed with hot purified water, dehydrated in a vacuum furnace, and heated to remove free fluorine
  4. Hydrogen treatment is applied to modify crystal phase and adjust refractive index

  1. Purification of chloride salt raw materials, controlling concentration and temperature before adding fluoride to precipitate LaF₃ slurry
  2. Washing with hot purified water to remove anions, followed by vacuum dehydration
