U160BS glass insulator is a high voltage insulator suitable for 10kV–500kV transmission and distribution lines. It complies with IEC 60305, IEC 60120, and IEC 60383 standards. This insulator offers excellent mechanical strength, with a minimum mechanical breaking load of 160kN—hence it is also known as a 160kN disc insulator.
Regarding electrical performance, the U160BS glass insulator has a power frequency wet withstand voltage of 45kV, a lightning impulse withstand voltage of 125kV, and a leakage distance of 400mm.
In Mexico, the U160BS glass insulator is known as Aislador 28SVC160C. The product has passed the type test report and meets the application requirements of the Mexican Electricity Authority.
