High-Strength PP Strapping with Adjustable Draw Ratio up to 12:1
Product Introduction
Molecular orientation is the fundamental method for enhancing the tensile strength of PP strapping. This production line's core advantage lies in its drawing machine, which offers an adjustable draw ratio range of up to 12:1. By precisely controlling the draw ratio, PP molecular chains become highly aligned along the stress direction, increasing the material's longitudinal tensile strength several times over its original state. Users can flexibly select the optimal draw ratio based on application requirements—from light bundling to heavy cargo securing—providing a broad performance spectrum from standard to ultra-high strength.

Customer Questions & Answers
Is a higher draw ratio always better for the product? How to choose?
Not necessarily. The relationship between draw ratio and product performance involves balance: increasing the draw ratio significantly enhances tensile strength and stiffness but reduces elongation at break (the product becomes brittle). The choice should be based on application: heavy-duty, high-tension packaging may opt for high draw ratios (e.g., 8-12:1); for occasions requiring some flexibility and impact resistance, moderate draw ratios (e.g., 4-7:1) are better. Our equipment gives you this freedom of choice.
Is adjusting the draw ratio operationally complex?
It is very simple and intuitive. The operator only needs to enter the target draw ratio value on the PLC touch screen. The control system automatically calculates and adjusts the speed of the drawing machine's servo motor to precisely match the speeds of preceding and subsequent processes, achieving the set drawing effect. The entire process is digital, requiring no manual complex mechanical speed adjustments.
What special requirements does achieving a high draw ratio like 12:1 impose on preceding and subsequent processes?
It requires close cooperation from surrounding processes: 1) Adequate Pre-cooling: Primary cooling must be thorough to completely solidify the tape blank so it can withstand high stretching stress. 2) Accurate Preheating: The oven must provide uniform and accurate preheating temperature to bring the PP into the "rubbery state" most suitable for stretching. 3) Timely Post-Setting: Immediately after stretching, heat setting in the latter part of the oven is required to "freeze" the oriented structure and prevent shrinkage.
