If producing pure PP (no additives), does the mixer need to run?
No. It can be bypassed or turned off, allowing material to fall directly from the dryer hopper into the extruder. However, we recommend keeping it operational for occasional masterbatch addition.
Will the mixer cause material segregation?
The mixer drops material directly into the extruder hopper immediately after mixing, with short residence time, so noticeable segregation is unlikely. For easily segregated materials, an upgraded model with agitator is available.
