Heavy-Duty KT Adjustable Welding Roller Bed (Turning Rolls)
Equipment Purpose
When your workshop is fabricating heavy pressure vessels, wind towers, or large-diameter industrial pipes, you need a reliable way to rotate the workpiece for smooth, continuous welding. The KT Adjustable Welding Roller Bed is designed specifically for this job.
Instead of dealing with complex setups, this machine uses a straightforward bolt-hole adjustment system to quickly adapt to different cylinder diameters. It is built with a rugged, beam-welded structure to handle massive loads without flexing, making it a staple for heavy structural and pipe fabrication yards.
Core Engineering & Workshop Benefits
- Quick Diameter Adjustment: The base frame features pre-drilled bolt holes. Your operators can easily adjust the center-to-center distance between the two rollers to securely cradle various workpiece diameters.
- Stepless Speed Control: Driven by an industrial inverter, the rotation speed is steplessly adjustable. The speed change rate is kept strictly under 2%, ensuring a highly consistent weld pool without sudden jerks.
- Massive Torque & Anti-Slip: We use a combination of a double enveloping worm and helical gear. This provides exceptional driving torque and natural self-locking, preventing the heavy workpiece from slipping or rolling back.
- Dual Braking Insurance: The motor and reducer form a dual-brake safety system for accurate and secure stops. (For loads ≤ 100 ton, the reducer automates the braking; for massive loads > 100 ton, both the motor and reducer automate the braking).
- Built-in Automation Ready: The control box panel comes with reserved linkage interfaces. You can easily connect this roller bed to a Column and Boom (Manipulator) system to create a fully synchronized automatic welding center.
- Heavy-Duty Bearing Protection: For extreme workloads (over 100 ton), the machine is equipped with a dedicated conductive device. This safely grounds the massive welding currents, preventing arc damage to the roller bearings.
- Shop-Floor Durability: The entire electrical system features IP45 insulation, protecting it from common workshop dust and moisture.
Roller Material Options
We know that different workpieces require different grips and weight capacities. You can customize your roller bed with three distinct wheel materials:
Type A: Full PU Roller (Polyurethane)
Constructed with a steel core fully covered in thick polyurethane.
Best for: Applications needing maximum driving grip and friction, but with lighter load capacities to prevent PU deformation.
Type B: PU and Steel Sandwiched Roller
Features a polyurethane center sandwiched between solid steel edges on both sides.
Best for: The perfect middle ground. Provides moderate load-bearing capacity while maintaining excellent drive capability.
Type C: Full Steel Roller
Overall welded solid steel wheels.
Best for: Ultra-heavy workpieces where massive load capacity is the only priority, though it offers less frictional drive capability compared to PU.
Controls & Optional Add-ons
Standard Remote Control System
Operators do not need to stand next to the machine. The standard package includes a comprehensive remote control pendant (10 m cable) featuring:
- Digital line speed display screen
- Roller speed adjusting knob
- Forward / Reverse toggles
- System Start, Stop, and Emergency Stop buttons
Equipment standard input power cable is 5 m. Both power and remote cable lengths can be customized to your actual factory layout.
Optional Upgrades to Fit Your Workflow
- Double Foot Switch: Allows the welder to start/stop rotation hands-free while holding the torch. (Note: Rotation direction and speed regulation settings will still be governed by the main remote).
- Motorized or Manual Trolleys: If you need to move the roller bed along a track to accommodate extra-long pipes, we offer manual and electric trolleys. The electric trolley utilizes stepless speed adjustment with a walking speed ranging from 350 - 3500 mm/min. When ordering the electric version, the power frame is fitted with the electric trolley, while the idler frame sits on a matching idler trolley.
