The common characteristics of the rotor pump are as follows.

1. there are no suction valves and discharge valves. Their main working parts are pump shells and rotors (such as gears, screws, cams, etc.).

2. compared with reciprocating pump, the rotor has no impact, high speed, compact structure and small volume.

3. discharge pressure is generally higher, but lower than reciprocating pump, flow rate is smaller than reciprocating pump, low efficiency, generally only suitable for small quantity of liquid, and most of the auxiliary equipment to use.

4. most of the rotor pumps are lubricated by their own conveying fluids, so they are generally suitable for conveying liquid with lubricity and without solid particles.

5. rotor pump is also intermittent discharge liquid, so the flow fluctuation is larger than the centrifugal pump, smaller than the reciprocating pump, but it can be seen as approximately uniform.

6. when there is a liquid film on the rotor surface (conveying lubricating liquid), the pump will have the ability of self absorption.
