TNC connector, whose full name is the Threaded Neill-Concelman connector, is a type of RF coaxial connector optimized for connection stability. It is specifically designed for complex signal transmission scenarios such as high frequency and high vibration environments, and is widely used in multiple fields. It can be regarded as an upgraded version of the threaded BNC connector, featuring a precision thread design of 32 teeth per inch.
Compared with the BNC snap-on connection, it can achieve an anti-vibration connection at a torque of 30N·m. Even in strong vibration environments such as vehicles and aviation, it can prevent the connection from loosening. At the same time, it can withstand more than 500 insertion and extraction cycles, and is less likely to have contact failure problems after long-term use.
The connector is composed of a plug, socket, insulator, housing and fasteners. Insulators mostly use high-performance materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene to prevent signal distortion. The casing is made of aviation-grade brass or stainless steel, and its surface is often coated with a 5μm thick layer of chemical nickel-gold. It can not only pass the 48-hour salt spray test but also keep the contact resistance below 5 MΩ. Some models with silicone rubber O-ring seals also have good water and dust resistance.
