Chemical Powder Bulk Density Meter / Natural Bulk Density Meter
Product Introduction
The natural bulk density meter (variational funnel method) is designed and produced in accordance with the national standard GB/T 16913.3-2008 for determination of dust accumulation density.
Widely used for testing accumulation density of various powders including:
- Metal powders (powder metallurgy, magnetic materials, alloys)
- Non-metal powders (abrasives, coatings)
- Chemical powders
- Food industry powders (milk powder, food additives)
Measurement Principle
Dust falls freely from the funnel to fill the measuring cup at a specified height. The mass of dust per unit volume in the measuring cup under loose loading condition is measured, determining the dust accumulation density.
Instrument Structure
| Component |
Specifications |
| Funnel |
Stainless steel construction with 60°±0.5 taper angle, 12.7mm flow outlet diameter |
| Blocking rod |
Stainless steel, prevents dust from falling during loading |
| Measuring cup |
100ml stainless steel cup with Φ39mm inner diameter |
| Scraper |
Stainless steel, removes excess dust from funnel |
Measurement Procedure
- Weigh empty measuring cup (m1)
- Load powder into funnel with blocking rod in place
- Release blocking rod, allowing powder to fill measuring cup
- Level excess powder with scraper and weigh filled cup (m2)
- Calculate density: (m2-m1)/V (V = 100cm³ corrected volume)
Note: Perform three consecutive measurements. The difference between maximum and minimum values should be <1g. Use the average of valid measurements as final result.
Standard Configuration
Densitometer main unit, plug rod, cylinder, measuring cup, scraper, brush
