Material Introduction

This contact type P80 plasma electrode and nozzle is a special consumable for air plasma cutting torch. Different from the non-contact arc starting version, this set supports touch start ignition, you can directly contact the workpiece to initiate the arc, which is convenient for operation, especially suitable for beginners and site cutting work.

The electrode adopts high-purity hafnium wire as discharge core. Hafnium material owns stable discharge performance, outstanding heat resistance, long service life and stable arc output under continuous cutting. The nozzle and electrode main body are made of chromium zirconium copper, with black chrome plating finish on the surface. This plating layer greatly improves anti-spatter, anti-oxidation and anti-scratch ability, prevents slag adhesion, and keeps good conductivity even under high temperature.

This consumable is widely used for cutting carbon steel, stainless steel, iron, aluminum and other metal sheets. It fits manual handheld cutting and simple CNC plasma cutting, commonly used in metal fabrication, scrap processing, workshop production, auto repair and metal engineering.

Operation Instructions

1. Confirm your cutter is matched with P80 cutting torch before installation. Adjust the compressed air pressure to 0.4–0.55 MPa.
2. Assemble the electrode and nozzle tightly, ensure good contact between parts, avoid loose fitting.
3. This is contact start style: gently touch the nozzle to the metal workpiece to finish arc striking. Do not scratch the nozzle hard on the workpiece repeatedly.
4. Make sure the compressed air is dry and clean. Oil and moisture inside air will burn the hafnium core quickly and cause unstable arc.
5. Select the correct nozzle aperture according to plate thickness and cutting current.
6. Replace the set timely when arc becomes shaky, cutting edge rough or hafnium core is worn down.

Important Notes

• Do not keep striking arc without cutting for a long time, it will speed up the loss of hafnium wire.
• Clean the nozzle inner hole regularly, accumulated slag will block air flow and affect cutting result.
• Store in dry place, away from humid and corrosive environment.
• This is a wearing consumable, regular replacement is required during daily cutting.
