ASTM C177 ISO 8302 Thermal Conductivity Tester Introduction:
The dual-plate thermal conductivity meter is a high-precision testing device based on the steady-state protective hot plate method, widely applicable for the accurate measurement of the thermal conductivity of various insulation materials. This instrument features a wide temperature control range (-160℃ to 800℃), adaptable to both soft materials (such as fibers, foams, and felts) and rigid materials (such as sheets, ceramics, and composites), and boasts excellent testing accuracy, a convenient sample clamping mechanism, and a fully automated testing process. The system employs computer intelligent control, adjusting temperature and power in real time, automatically determining thermal steady state, and generating complete and compliant test reports according to user requirements.
Its working principle strictly follows a unidirectional steady-state thermal conductivity model. Two symmetrical samples are placed between a central hot plate and two cold plates on either side. After the temperature difference between the hot and cold surfaces reaches a strictly stable state, the thermal conductivity of the material is directly calculated by accurately measuring the electrical power input to the hot surface, the temperature difference between the two sides of the sample, and the thickness. The instrument employs a dual high-precision internal and external protective temperature control system and a unique protective temperature difference measurement structure, effectively ensuring one-dimensional heat transfer along the thickness direction, greatly eliminating lateral heat loss, and guaranteeing the reliability and repeatability of measurement results.
This instrument complies with domestic and international standards such as ISO 8302, ASTM C177, and GB/T 10294-2008 "Determination of Steady-State Thermal Resistance and Related Properties of Insulation Materials—Protective Hot Plate Method."
