Product Overview

IAI PCON-C-42PI-NP-2-0 is a one-axis position controller matched to an IAI actuator with a 42P motor-flange class and incremental encoder. The C designation identifies the positioner version with an internal drive-power cutoff relay. NP indicates NPN sink I/O, and the final 2-0 code identifies a 2 m I/O cable specification and 24 VDC supply.

The controller stores position data and operating parameters in nonvolatile memory. It is intended for exact-model replacement and maintenance of existing PCON-C installations.

This model is used in assembly machines, indexing stations, transfer mechanisms, packaging systems, inspection equipment, and other PLC-controlled machinery that was engineered for the 42PI controller configuration. The 42PI code is an actuator-matching specification and must not be treated as a general power rating.

Maintenance and Replacement Notes

Confirm the full controller suffix, actuator nameplate, motor and encoder cables, brake option, PIO pattern, NPN wiring, position data, and parameter file before installation. PCON-C production ended with an order cutoff of 23 June 2023. The later PCON-CB family uses different parameter and backup files, teaching-tool support, and controller-side cable connections. Cable conversion or replacement may be necessary.
