Why Water-Cooled IGBT Matters for Continuous Heavy-Duty Production

Motor and generator housings demand dozens of projection welds in a single cycle. The thermal stress on the power electronics is extreme: high current at high duty cycle, repeated hundreds of times per shift. Air-cooled power modules derate under these conditions, forcing slower cycle times or risking thermal failure mid-production.

This Xinwei heavy-duty projection welder uses water-cooled IGBT modules that maintain stable power output even under prolonged high-current continuous operation. The high-rigidity pneumatic pressurization system delivers constant electrode force, compensating for the minor dimensional variations common in cast or stamped motor components. Combined with servo indexing for precise workpiece positioning, this system is purpose-built for the thermal and mechanical demands of motor and generator batch production.
