Product Overview
TBC-3524-1L2 / TBC-5324-1L2 are high-performance, cost-effective 1.25G SFP optical transceivers designed for Gigabit Ethernet and other high-speed fiber optic networking applications. Using single-mode single-fiber (SMF) technology, the modules support transmission distances of up to 20km over a single optical fiber.
The two modules are designed to work as a complementary pair for bidirectional transmission over a single fiber.
TBC-3524-1L2 features a 1310nm FP laser transmitter with a 1550nm receiver, while TBC-5324-1L2 features a 1550nm DFB laser transmitter with a 1310nm receiver. Both modules use a PIN photodiode with an integrated transimpedance preamplifier (TIA) and limiting amplifier in the receiver section, providing reliable optical signal reception.
The modules feature a standard SFP form factor with a 20-pin connector and support hot-plugging for convenient installation and replacement without interrupting the network. The high-speed electrical interface uses low-voltage logic, with a nominal 100Ω differential impedance and AC coupling integrated within the module.
For reliable operation and system monitoring, the modules provide TX_DIS, TX_FAULT, and RX_LOS functions. TX_DIS allows the optical output to be disabled through an LVTTL high-level input, while TX_FAULT indicates a transmitter fault related to laser operation or safety. RX_LOS indicates loss of the incoming optical signal.
An integrated serial EEPROM enables access to transceiver monitoring and configuration information through the 2-wire SFP management interface. The interface uses the A0h address with a lower and upper memory area, supporting basic digital diagnostic information and additional module-specific data.
