65MN Spring Steel Strip - Cold Rolled Heat Treated Steel
65MN spring steel strips are cold rolled and heat treated to achieve HRC 40 hardness, offering excellent mechanical properties for demanding industrial applications.

Heat Treatment Processes
Annealing Process
Slowly heat to 730°C with sufficient soaking time to ensure thorough heating, then cool slowly in the furnace. Resulting hardness: MAX 250 HB.
Hardening Process
Heat uniformly to 830-860°C (1526-1580°F) until completely heated through. Allow approximately 30 minutes per 25mm of ruling section, then immediately quench in oil.
Tempering Process
Temper at 540°C with thorough soaking for at least one hour per 25mm of total thickness. Hardness values vary based on tempering temperatures.

Applications
65Mn steel offers high strength with adequate toughness and plasticity after heat treatment and cold drawing hardening. While hardenability is limited, it excels in smaller spring applications including speed regulating springs, load springs, round and square spiral springs for general machinery, and pull wires for small mechanical springs.
