Product Overview
The M30 quick-acting hatch cover cleat is a mechanical securing component used at the side or top of a ship’s main cargo hatch cover. Its cam-lock arrangement draws the cover toward the coaming and helps maintain the specified compression of the hatch cover sealing system during a sea passage. The cleat supports weathertight closing, but it does not create weathertightness by itself; cover alignment, gasket condition, compression bars, bearing pads, cleat spacing, adjustment, and load sharing must all remain within the approved hatch cover arrangement.
This M30 configuration is supplied with a nominal M30 nylon nut, a user-specified Ø32 mm rod, Ø110 mm steel washer, Ø100 mm elastic rubber washer, and available rod lengths of 600, 800, or 1000 mm. Replacement units for MacGregor, TTS, CG, or other hatch cover systems should be produced only after the original drawing, sample, cam profile, installation position, and required adjustment range have been confirmed. The product is supplied as replacement or project-specific equipment and should not be described as an original equipment manufacturer part unless separately authorized.

Selection & Inquiry Guide
Step 1: Confirm the hatch cover maker, system type, vessel name or hull number, and whether the cleat is installed at a side, end, cross-joint, or top securing position.
Step 2: Confirm M30 model, Ø32 mm rod, required length 600 / 800 / 1000 mm, thread form and thread length, cam profile, locking direction, washer arrangement, and available adjustment travel.
Step 3: Provide the existing cleat drawing, hatch cover arrangement drawing, or a complete sample. Replacement compatibility should be checked by interface dimensions and function, not by the M30 designation alone.
Step 4: Confirm the required gasket compression, cleat pre-tension or adjustment setting, and load-sharing requirement according to the approved hatch cover design or maker’s maintenance instruction.

A1: No. The cleat helps maintain the specified securing force and gasket compression, but weathertight performance depends on the complete hatch cover system, including panel alignment, gaskets, compression bars, bearing pads, drainage, cleat spacing, adjustment, and load sharing.
Q2: Can this M30 cleat directly replace a MacGregor or TTS cleat?
