Anti-Clogging And Anti-Deposition, Suitable For Dirty Medium Eccentric Orifice Plate Flowmeter
An eccentric orifice plate flowmeter refers to a circular opening whose center does not coincide with the center of the pipe (i.e., "eccentric").
Main advantages:
- Anti-clogging and anti-deposition: This is the core advantage. For slurry, sewage, crude oil, etc., solid particles will pass through the lower part of the pipe along the mainstream and will not accumulate in front of the orifice plate.
- Suitable for dirty media: It can measure liquids containing solids, easily crystallizing, easily settling, and gases/steam containing condensate.
- Relatively small pressure loss: Compared with standard orifice plates, since the opening does not completely block the pipe, its permanent pressure loss is slightly lower.
- The structure is still relatively simple, retaining the advantages of standard orifice plates such as durability and no moving parts.
Typical application scenarios
- Liquids containing solid particles:
- Slurry and coal slurry in mines and steel mills.
- Sludge and wastewater in sewage treatment plants.
- Pulp in paper mills.
- Crude oil (containing sand and wax).
- Gases/steam containing droplets or condensate:
- Wet gas and humid compressed air.
- Saturated steam or superheated steam (possibly carrying condensate).
- Natural gas (possibly containing condensate oil).
The eccentric orifice plate flowmeter is a dedicated solution for specific challenges (measuring dirty media). It sacrifices the "standardization" and "high precision" advantages of standard orifice plates in exchange for the crucial practicality of "anti-clogging".
