Low-Reflection Tempered Transparent Observation Sight Glass for Flange Gauges


1. Material & Construction

  • Core Material: Borosilicate glass (Schott Borofloat®/equivalent) or soda-lime glass

  • Surface Treatment:

    • Anti-reflective (AR) coating (V-coating or broadband)

    • Chemical tempering (ion-exchange process)

  • Sealing: Integrated EPDM/graphite gaskets for pressure containment


2. Key Properties

  • Optical Clarity:

    • 99% visible light transmission (uncoated: >92%)

    • Reflectivity <0.5% per surface (550nm)

  • Mechanical Strength:

    • IK08 impact resistance (5J impact tolerance)

    • 4x stronger than annealed glass

  • Pressure/Thermal Ratings:

    • Withstands 25+ bar pressure (ASME B16.5 compliant)

    • Thermal shock resistance: ΔT >150°C

  • Chemical Resistance:

    • pH 1-14 compatibility

    • Resists oils, solvents, and process chemicals
