Low Lambda Excellent Thermal Insulation PUR Board 40 mm Foil Faced Panel

Excellent thermal insulation is worth most where construction depth is fixed. A 40 mm PUR board with a conductivity of 0.023 W/(m.K) gives roughly the same resistance as sixty millimetres of ordinary foam, so a refurbishment can keep its original wall line and still meet the energy target. The aluminium foil facing adds a low emissivity surface that lifts the performance of the whole build up.

The foil is bonded while the foam is still reacting, so there is no trapped air layer and no risk of facing delamination later. Excellent thermal insulation depends on that bond as much as on the foam chemistry, because a loose facing creates a convection path along the panel. Each board is checked for flatness before packing.

Specifiers working to tight U values receive measured conductivity at several mean temperatures, so the calculation reflects real service conditions rather than a single headline number.
