District heating networks need insulation that survives heat, ground water and traffic load at the same time. This PUR pipe section insulation is moulded at fifty kilograms per cubic metre and banded to the pipe, so the shell stays tight while the line expands and contracts through the heating season.
The closed cell structure keeps water absorption below five percent by volume, which matters in buried ducts where the insulation can sit in contact with groundwater for decades. Conductivity of 0.023 W/(m.K) keeps heat loss per metre low, and the shell is dimensioned to fit standard DN sizes without gaps at the butt joints.
For steam service we confirm the actual operating temperature before quoting, because standard PUR suits continuous duty up to about 100 degrees and short excursions to 120. Where the line runs hotter, we recommend a PIR or mineral based solution instead, and we will say so rather than sell a shell that will fail early.
A district heating PUR pipe section is banded at 300 mm centres, and every district heating PUR pipe section is checked for roundness before dispatch. Where a district heating PUR pipe section meets a valve we supply a matching box section, and a district heating PUR pipe section ordered for a buried line receives an HDPE jacket. Each district heating PUR pipe section is packed with its joint sleeves.

Q: What is the maximum continuous temperature?
A: Around 100 degrees continuous for standard PUR, with short excursions to 120. Above that we recommend a different foam system.
Q: How are sections fixed to the pipe?
A: Stainless or galvanised steel bands at 300 to 500 mm centres, with the joint adhesive applied first.
Q: Can you supply outer cladding?
A: Yes, HDPE, galvanised steel or aluminium cladding is available for buried and outdoor service.
Q: Do you produce matching elbows and tees?
A: Yes, factory made elbows, tees and reducers are produced to the same density and thickness as the straight sections.
