It mainly utilizes the principle that soft and hard wheat have different resistance to mechanical crushing: under specified conditions, the sample is crushed using the characteristic that hard wheat is not easily powdered and soft wheat is easily powdered. The ratio of the mass of the sample remaining on the sieve to the total mass of the sample is used to calculate the wheat hardness. The measurement method of this product has a significant linear positive correlation with the wheat hardness index value measured by the general particle size index method (PSI method), with a correlation coefficient of 0.98.
