Material Composition & Production
Reinforced flexible graphite gasket material is manufactured through a multi-stage process: Natural graphite flakes undergo chemical intercalation and thermal expansion (1000-1200°C), generating expanded graphite with a bulk density of 3.2 kg/m³. This base material is then mechanically reinforced with stainless steel mesh (304/316L) or perforated alloy foils through high-pressure lamination, creating a hybrid structure that combines graphite's inherent properties with metallic reinforcement.
