Application:

The 2848A071 / 2374894 oil pressure sensor is purpose-built for the Perkins 1103D-33, 1103D-33T, 1103D-33TA, 1104A-44, 1104A-44T, 1104C-44, 1104C-44T, 1104C-44TA, 1104D-44 and 1104D-44T turbocharged four-cylinder diesels, and is also fully compatible with the 1106A-70T, 1106A-70TA, 1106C-E70TA and 1106D-70TA derivatives. Across agricultural tractors, combine harvesters, 40–150 kVA generator sets, tele-handlers and light construction equipment, the sensor continuously monitors main-gallery oil pressure and transmits a real-time 0–5 V analogue signal to the engine control unit; should the pressure fall below the calibrated safety threshold the ECU triggers an immediate warning lamp and can derate or shut down the engine, preventing catastrophic damage to crankshaft bearings, turbochargers and high-pressure fuel pumps.

Technical specifications:

The unit is a three-wire piezo-resistive pressure transducer housed in a brass body with a 1/8" NPTF male thread and 19 mm hex. It measures 0–10 bar (0–145 psi) with ±2 % full-scale accuracy, outputs a linear 0.5–4.5 V signal referenced to a 5 V supply and draws <10 mA at 12 V. Operating temperature spans –40 °C to +125 °C and the sensor withstands 1 000 h salt-spray exposure per ASTM B117.


Material & performance features:

The sensing diaphragm is 17-4 PH stainless steel, laser-welded to the brass body for absolute hermetic sealing and protected by a sintered brass snubber that damps pressure pulsations and prevents oil-borne debris from reaching the element.
