Application:

T417742 is a heavy-duty plate-type oil cooler engineered for Perkins 1206E-E66TA and 4.236/AT4.236 turbo-diesel engines (4.0 L, 4-cylinder) that power Massey Ferguson 8200-series tractors, JCB 3CX backhoe loaders, CAT E320E excavators and FG Wilson generator sets. Mounted directly on the oil-filter pad at the left side of the cylinder block, it reduces oil temperature from 130 °C to 95 °C under sustained full-load operation, ensuring reliable lubrication and extended engine life across agricultural, construction and standby-power applications.

Technical specifications:

Aluminium plate-and-fin core measures 165 mm × 130 mm × 38 mm with 22 plates providing 0.35 m² of heat-transfer surface. Coolant flow is 12 L/min at 80 °C, oil flow 9 L/min at 120 °C, delivering a temperature drop ≥ 18 °C. Inlet/outlet ports are 3/4-16 UNF with Viton O-rings; mounting flange is SAE J1920 size 1 with two M10 bolts on 75 mm centres. Maximum working pressure 10 bar oil / 4 bar coolant, burst pressure 28 bar. All gaskets are FKM (Viton) for biodiesel, synthetic or mineral oils from −45 °C to +150 °C.

Brazed-aluminium core offers high thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance; powder-coated shell withstands 500 h salt-spray. Internal louvred fins create turbulent flow for 25 % greater heat-exchange efficiency than tube-and-fin designs. A built-in thermostatic bypass valve opens at 85 °C to shorten warm-up and reduce cold-start wear. Unit weighs 1.4 kg, is vibration-tested to 25 g and pressure-pulse-tested to 150 000 cycles for durability in extreme field conditions.
