Application:

The 326 7401 2486A002 oil cooler is engineered for the Perkins 1106C-E66T and 1106D-E66TA six-cylinder turbo-charged diesel engines of 6.6 L displacement, assemblies that power Caterpillar 320D, 320D2, 323D and 323D2 hydraulic excavators as well as Challenger MT700E, MT800E and MT900E articulated tractors, Massey Ferguson 8200 and 8400 series wheeled tractors, JCB 457 wheeled loaders and 60–120 kVA generator sets. Because the cooler housing shares the same bolt pattern and 98.48 mm pilot diameter used on earlier 4.236, T4.236 and AT4.236 4.0 L engines, it is also retro-fitted to those blocks during major overhaul, giving it a broad service footprint across agricultural tractors, combine harvesters, generator sets and industrial machinery produced from the late 1990s through to the present day.

Technical specifications:

The cooler is a 15-plate, donut-type heat exchanger that nests in the 98.48 mm counterbore of the cylinder block. Plate stack outside diameter is 114 mm, overall height including the sealing flange is 82 mm, and fifteen internally-louvered stainless-steel plates deliver an oil-side heat-transfer area of 570 cm². Rated heat-rejection capacity is 9.1 kW at 90 °C oil temperature and 75 °C coolant temperature under full-load conditions.

Material & performance features:

The plate pack is vacuum-brazed 304 stainless steel for maximum resistance to chloride attack from modern long-life coolants, while the aluminium shell is hard-anodised to MIL-A-8625 Type II for superior salt-spray and chemical resistance.
