Description

This 40 g/m² fluorine‑free greaseproof paper uses a plant‑based coating (modified starch, chitosan, and sodium alginate) to achieve Grade 8 oil resistance, suitable for most fast‑food and bakery applications. Fully compliant with EU REACH and FDA fluorine‑free standards, it is 100% biodegradable and repulpable. The coating is water‑based, containing no PFAS, wax, or silicone.

Process Introduction

Base paper from 70% softwood + 30% hardwood, beaten to 75‑78°SR. The bio‑coating is prepared with modified starch (solid 15%), chitosan (0.5%), sodium alginate (0.5%), and nano‑silica as reinforcing agent. Applied via curtain coater at 2.5‑3.0 g/m², then dried at 100‑140°C for crosslinking. Hard calendering produces smooth, pinhole‑free surface.
