Description

This paper‑fabric composite back strip combines a white kraft paper surface (80‑120 g/m²) with a high‑density polyester‑cotton fabric reinforcement layer. The result is exceptional tear resistance (folding endurance ≥200 times) and peel strength, ideal for premium photo albums, hardcover yearbooks, and archival books. The composite structure withstands heavy page loads and repeated opening without cracking.

Process Introduction

The kraft paper is coated with hot‑melt or water‑based polyurethane adhesive (80‑200 g/m²), then hot‑press laminated with pretreated plain‑woven polyester‑cotton fabric at 80‑100°C under 3‑5 bar pressure. The laminate is fully impregnated with additional adhesive to ensure waterproof bonding. After drying at 100‑120°C, it is cooled, wound, and slit to width. Finished rolls are inspected for edge delamination.
