Description

80 g/m² butter paper offers enhanced thickness (approx. 0.08‑0.09 mm) and tearing resistance (≥220 mN) while maintaining transparency around 66%. It is the recommended weight for high‑speed laser printing and electrostatic copying, where lower jam rates are critical. Also ideal for screen printing plate making and rigid packaging inserts.

Process Introduction

Higher basis weight demands more intensive beating to maintain transparency. After ≥90°SR refining, the stock is formed on a Fourdrinier machine at low consistency. Surface sizing with PVA and stearic acid starch creates a strong barrier. Secondary drying to 6‑8% moisture, then finishing calendering to achieve smoothness ≥300s.
