The Yaskawa CIMR-AU4A0038FAA is an A1000 high-performance vector drive for 380-480 VAC three-phase industrial motor applications. It provides 25 HP and 38 A under Normal Duty operation or 20 HP and 31 A under Heavy Duty operation. This current and power range is commonly used in medium-capacity production machinery where reliable torque control and stable speed regulation are required.
The drive supports open-loop and closed-loop current-vector control, open-loop and closed-loop V/f control, and operation with compatible induction and permanent-magnet motors. When fitted with the correct feedback option, it can accept supported incremental, absolute or resolver feedback for closed-loop machine applications.

Typical applications include extruders, mixers, industrial conveyors, winders, machine tools, process equipment, pumps, fans and material-handling machinery. Applications with high starting torque, frequent speed changes or substantial load inertia should normally be evaluated under the Heavy Duty rating. The drive output current must remain above the motor demand after applying any ambient-temperature, carrier-frequency or installation derating.
Closed-loop operation requires the appropriate feedback option and a compatible encoder. The encoder supply voltage, channel arrangement, signal type and mechanical coupling must be checked before commissioning. The motor direction and encoder direction should be tested at low speed before the machine is fully loaded.
For replacement, confirm the complete CIMR-AU4A0038FAA nameplate and specification number. Document the installed option cards, terminal wiring, parameter set, encoder configuration, communication network and braking system. Inspect the motor and output cable if the original drive experienced repeated overcurrent or ground-fault trips.
Cabinet ventilation is particularly important at this output level. Maintain the required heatsink clearance and prevent hot exhaust air from recirculating through the drive. Verify cable size, grounding and upstream protection before energization.
GA800 is the recommended migration platform for many A1000 systems. Parameter conversion can assist, but exact current rating, feedback hardware, communication options, safety circuit and mounting arrangement must be checked.
Related A1000 models include CIMR-AU4A0031FAA, CIMR-AU4A0044FAA, CIMR-AU4A0058FAA and CIMR-AU4A0072FAA. A higher-capacity drive may require changes to panel layout, cable sizes and protective devices.
Please provide the complete drive and motor nameplates, required duty, encoder type, installed option cards, braking arrangement and quantity. Final suitability should be confirmed against the actual machine configuration.
