Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is located in Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province. It was built in 1982 and is China’s first national forest park. As a core part of Wulingyuan Scenic Area, it has been listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.

The park is world-famous for its unique quartz sandstone peak forest landform. Countless strange stone pillars stand straight from the valley, creating a breathtaking fairyland. These special mountain pillars inspired the floating Hallelujah Mountains in the famous movie Avatar.

There are many well-known scenic spots inside the park, including Yuanjiajie, Golden Whip Stream and Huangshizhai. Lush primitive forests cover the mountains, with clear streams, fresh air and rich wildlife. The natural ecosystem is perfectly preserved here.

Different from Tianmen Mountain, this park is famous for towering stone peaks and dense forests. It is an ideal place for hiking, sightseeing and taking photos. Every year, numerous global tourists come to admire the magical masterpiece of nature.
