51.2V 314Ah Home Energy Storage Battery with Optional CAN RS485 Communication

This home energy storage battery provides 16076Wh of listed nominal LiFePO4 energy from a 51.2V 314Ah configuration. It is intended for compatible residential solar, backup and off-grid systems that require approximately 16kWh of stored battery energy.

The product combines the battery cells, BMS and DC connection within one floor standing tower. The inverter, solar charging equipment, household load distribution and external DC protection remain separate parts of the residential system.

Begin with the Household Energy Budget

A residential system should be sized from daily energy consumption and required backup duration. The inverter’s maximum output rating alone does not determine the required battery capacity.

The 16.08kWh-class rating is nominal DC energy. Inverter losses, battery operating settings, temperature, cable resistance and reserve capacity influence the energy available to household equipment.

Three Design Layers for a Residential System

Layer One: Stored Energy

Use the average household load and required operating hours to determine whether approximately 16.08kWh is sufficient.

Layer Two: Inverter Power

Select inverter output according to the simultaneous AC load and temporary startup demand of pumps, compressors or other motor-driven equipment.

Layer Three: Solar Recharge

Confirm that the available PV energy and inverter charger can restore the used battery energy within the required charging period.

Inverter Voltage and Current Requirements

The connected inverter must support a nominal 51.2V lithium battery and the complete 40.0–58.4Vdc operating range. The charging profile should support the listed 56.0V floating-charge voltage.

Continuous charging and continuous discharge are both limited to 200A. The inverter’s maximum battery-side current should be calculated at the lowest expected battery voltage and maximum planned residential load.

The battery lists 300A pulse discharge for one second. This may provide temporary current headroom for a compatible brief demand, but it is not a continuous household-load rating.

Deciding Whether CAN or RS485 Is Required

Optional CAN or RS485 communication may allow supported battery information to be exchanged with a compatible inverter. The communication option should be specified before production when inverter integration is required.

The inverter brand, exact model, firmware, protocol and cable pin definition must be checked. Having the same physical port does not guarantee that the battery and inverter can exchange data.

When communication is not confirmed, installers should not assume that state-of-charge reporting, battery alarms or automatic charging-current control will be available through the inverter.

Residential Protection Boundaries

The BMS provides overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, short-circuit and overtemperature protection. These functions help keep the battery within its documented operating limits.

BMS protection does not replace correctly sized DC cables, M8 terminal connections, breakers, fuses or disconnect devices. External protection must be coordinated with the inverter and battery current.

The IP20 battery requires a dry indoor technical area with stable floor support, no condensation and suitable service access.

Is this a complete residential energy storage system?

No. It is the battery section. A compatible inverter, solar array, protection equipment and household distribution design are required separately.

Will CAN or RS485 work with every hybrid inverter?

No. The protocol, firmware, cable pin definition and system settings must be compatible.

Can the battery continuously supply 300A?

No. The maximum continuous discharge current is 200A. The 300A rating applies for one second.

How should solar recharge capacity be selected?

Calculate the expected daily battery energy use, available sunlight, PV losses and required recharge period.

What information is required for communication checking?

Provide the inverter brand, exact model, firmware version and supported CAN or RS485 battery protocol.
