12kW Split Phase Home Energy Storage System with 30kWh Battery and Dual MPPT
This residential energy storage system combines a 12kW pure sine wave inverter, 30.72kWh battery reserve, dual MPPT solar charging, generator compatibility and WiFi monitoring in one coordinated power cabinet.
It provides approximately 27.6kWh of usable battery energy at 90% depth of discharge. The larger storage reserve is suitable for homes that need longer operating time for refrigeration, lighting, communication, security, home-office equipment and other selected circuits.
The 12kW split phase output supports projects using 120/240Vac residential electrical service. Compared with the 10kW configuration, this version provides additional output headroom for properties with higher simultaneous household demand.
The system is designed for split phase electrical service using L1, L2 and neutral connections. Compatible line-to-neutral loads operate at 120Vac, while suitable line-to-line loads use 240Vac.
A qualified installer should distribute household circuits between L1 and L2 to avoid unnecessary load imbalance. Refrigerators, pumps, air conditioners and other motor-driven equipment must also be checked for startup demand.
Two MPPT inputs support photovoltaic arrays of up to 6kW per channel. This 6kW + 6kW arrangement gives installers up to 12kW of total solar input for daytime load supply and battery recovery.
The two solar inputs can be useful when photovoltaic modules are divided between separate roof areas. Each string must remain within the specified current, operating-voltage and open-circuit-voltage limits.
During extended outages, a compatible generator may be used as another power source. Generator voltage, frequency, available capacity and charging settings must be confirmed before commissioning.
| Line-to-Neutral Input Range | 85–140Vac ±2% |
|---|---|
| Frequency and Power Factor | 50Hz / 60Hz Auto Detection / PF 1.0 |
| Overload Response | 5 Minutes at 105–110%; 10 Seconds at 110–125%; 5 Seconds Above 125% |
| Battery-Mode Efficiency | Greater Than 95% |
| MPPT Operating Window | 90–485Vdc |
| Maximum PV Open-Circuit Voltage | 500Vdc |
| Charging Current Limits | 220A PV / 160A AC / 0–200A Combined |
| Battery Operating Range | 40.0–58.4Vdc |
| Site and Cabinet Requirements | IP21 / -10°C to 50°C / 695 × 298 × 1550mm / 255kg Net |
The 12kW version is more suitable when the planned simultaneous household load exceeds the practical output range of the 10kW configuration. Final selection should be based on continuous demand and appliance startup power.
Each MPPT can accept up to 6kW and 22A of photovoltaic input. The two strings must independently comply with the 90–485Vdc operating range and 500Vdc open-circuit limit.
Yes. Load distribution should be reviewed during installation so that compatible line-to-neutral circuits are reasonably balanced across the split phase output.
The photovoltaic and utility charging circuits have separate maximum ratings, while the combined charging setting limits their total simultaneous contribution. Commissioning settings must remain within the specified combined range.
This depends on generator capacity, charging settings, household load demand and the selected operating mode. The generator should be sized for the intended combined requirement.
The installation location should provide stable floor support for approximately 255kg, dry protected placement, suitable ventilation, cable access and adequate service clearance.
This 12kW split phase home energy storage system is suitable for solar installers, distributors and project developers serving larger residences, remote homes and generator-supported backup projects.
Voltertech provides household load assessment, split phase circuit planning, photovoltaic string review, generator compatibility checks and project quotation support.
