Applications
This equipment is used to cut and shape the anode and cathode electrodes of lithium batteries, and stack the cut
electrodes into a specified number of layers of cells. The cells are taped and hot-pressed before flowing into the next
process.
Equipment Overview
The electrode coils are manually placed on the unwinding air expansion shaft of the machine, which then automatically unwinds the electrode coils. The automatic correction mechanism corrects the unwinding process and the tension control system controls the tension of the unwinding electrode tabs. The traction mechanism delivers electrode tabs to the electrode forming station. By using metal dies, the ends of the electrode tab strips are formed into V-shapes. The electrode tab strips are then cut into individual electrode tabs by using metal cutting dies. A vacuum belt delivers the individual electrode tabs to the inspection station for CCD dimensional inspection and defect detection. Defective products are automatically rejected into the collecting container, while good products proceed to the stacking station. At the stacking station, the positive and negative electrodes are allocated to three stacking platforms. Together with the separator unwinding, the electrodes are alternately stacked into battery cell groups in a zigzag pattern. These cell groups are then fixed with U-type seal, affixed with 2D barcodes, hot-pressed and hi-pot tested and then discharged onto the conveyor line for the subsequent process.
