Worm gear is a gear mechanism for transmitting motion and power between two staggered axes, the worm is shaped like a screw
and the worm gear is similar to a helical cylindrical gear, and the two are meshed through helical teeth to realise the motion conversion,
and usually the worm is the active part.
When the worm rotates, its helical teeth push the teeth of the worm wheel, converting the rotary motion of the worm into the rotary motion of the worm wheel.
For each revolution of the worm, the number of teeth of the worm wheel is equal to the number of heads of the worm, a
nd different transmission ratios can be achieved by adjusting the number of heads of the worm and the number of teeth of the worm wheel.
Commonly used in the feed system of machine tools, traction machine of lifts, steering mechanism of automobiles, lifting device of cranes,
etc., to achieve precise speed control and force transmission.
