What types of cards cannot be printed by the card printer?

  1. Cards with embossed characters (e.g., bank credit cards with raised numbers).
  2. Cards with signature strips (the area on the back of bank cards for handwritten signatures cannot be printed on).
  3. Cards with uneven surfaces (e.g., cards with bumpy textures that cause uneven placement).
  4. Unlaminated printed cards or blank cards (test method: scratch the colored area with a knife—if the color peels off, the card is unlaminated). These cards cannot be machine-printed: the printed color will be dry and uneven, and they will severely damage the printhead.
  5. Cards with IC/ID chips: if the chip encapsulation process is poor, the card surface may have a raised chip. This area will not take color (resulting in a white spot). Users of such cards are advised to switch to a higher-resolution thermal transfer printer, or request the manufacturer to fix the chip encapsulation position to avoid the printing area when purchasing cards.

Why do horizontal lines appear in printed images?

If the printed image has one or more white horizontal lines across the entire card, the printhead is damaged.

Why is machine maintenance necessary?

Please regularly maintain the machine with cleaning supplies (cleaning cards, cleaning pens, etc.). This better protects the printhead and extends its service life.

How often should maintenance be performed?

Maintain the machine regularly with cleaning supplies (cleaning cards, cleaning pens, etc.). It is recommended to perform maintenance with a cleaning card after using one roll of ribbon! The machine will automatically prompt for maintenance and cleaning after every 500 cards printed. The prompt will disappear after maintenance, and the machine will resume normal use.
