Fiber Optic, Pre-Terminated Outlet Kit (PTO)

Description

The Pre-Terminated Outlet kit (PTO) is a product configured for speed and ease of installation in Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Fiber to the Business (FTTB) deployments. The PTO consists of a low-profile fiber optic outlet box loaded with adapters and a pre-terminated length of cable,conveniently packaged with a cable spool inside a protective carton.

With the PTO, installing the last drop cable and fiber optic outlet in a FTTx deployment is a very simple and fast process. The installer simply removes the spool-loaded cable from the carton and attaches the pre-terminated outlet to the wall. The PTO outlet is mounted to the wall using screws, without opening the outlet and disturbing the fiber terminations inside. Alternatively, the PTO can be snapped onto a standard DIN rail.

PTO installation does not require any special tools or skills, and eliminates the need for termination or splicing in the outlet. The result is a decrease in the time, cost and failure rate of installations per customer.
