High Density Polyethylene HDPE Geomembrane Pond Liner for Fish Shrimp Farms Mining Reservoirs Dams
HDPE Geomembrane is a flexible anti-seepage material based on high molecular polymers (such as HDPE, LDPE, EVA, etc.). It is widely used in many fields due to its corrosion resistance, high tensile strength, and aging resistance.
Technical Notes
- HDPE is a very technical product to work with. It must be installed by certified welding technicians using specialized welding equipment to ensure performance.
- Installations are temperature and poor weather sensitive.
- 40 mil HDPE liner requires extra effort to ensure that the subgrade is in excellent condition. It is suitable as an upgrade from products like the 20 mil RPE for larger installations and is an excellent secondary containment liner on multi-layer systems (for example; subgrade, geotextile layer, 40 mil
- HDPE layer, drainage net layer, 60 mil HDPE layer, geotextile layer, fill.)
- 60 mil HDPE liner is the staple of the industry and is suitable for most applications.
- 80 mil HDPE liner is a thicker design for more aggressive subgrades.

Benefits of HDPE
- The most chemically resistant member of the polyethylene family due to its dense configuration.
- Field welded with hot wedge welders and extrusion welders. These factory quality welds are virtually stronger than the sheet itself.
- The best QC-QA testing capabilities in the marketplace.
- No need to cover the liner because it is UV stable = cost-effective.
Available in roll stock and come in varying thicknesses ranging from 20 to 120 mil depending on your requirements.

Optimization of Geomembrane Storage Conditions
Physical protection measures
1. Anti-ultraviolet aging
The storage site needs to use a sunshade or opaque covering material (such as waterproof tarpaulin) to completely block ultraviolet rays to prevent photo-oxidative degradation of the material.
Example solution: A double-layer covering structure with an inner moisture-proof film + an outer sunshade cloth is suitable for open-air warehouses.
2. Anti-mechanical damage
- The stacking height shall not exceed 5 rolls (about 1.2 meters), and the single rolls shall be separated by wooden partitions to prevent extrusion and deformation.
- The ground of the site needs to be hardened and a moisture-proof cushion layer (such as a rubber pad) shall be laid to prevent sharp objects from piercing the rolls.
Environmental control parameters
1. Temperature and humidity management
- The storage temperature is recommended to be controlled at 5-35℃, and the relative humidity is ≤60%. Air conditioning or exhaust fans are required in high temperature seasons.
- Check the humidity of the warehouse every month. If the damp rolls are found, they should be moved to the dry area immediately and spread out for airing.
2. Ventilation and pollution prevention
- Axial flow fans should be installed in the warehouse to maintain air circulation and prevent material adhesion.
- It is forbidden to store them together with chemical reagents and oily items. There should be no corrosive gas emission sources within 3 meters around the storage area.

Adaptation solutions for special scenarios
1. Temporary outdoor storage
- Use a movable rain shelter, and raise the bottom of the roll by 30cm to prevent rainwater from soaking.
- Use waterproof film to wrap the single roll during the rainy season, and wrap the outer layer with anti-tear tape.
2. Extremely cold/high temperature areas
- The storage temperature in winter must be ≥-10℃, and avoid direct sunlight in summer to soften the material.
- Use controlled atmosphere storage technology in extreme climates to adjust the oxygen concentration to 2%-5% to inhibit oxidation reactions
