Equipment Introduction and Technical Parameters
1. Equipment Introduction
The brown fused alumina furnace is a
three-phase AC tilting electric arc furnace. It takes bauxite, coke (anthracite) and iron filings as raw materials, and performs reduction and melting at a high temperature above
2000℃ to produce brown fused alumina (main component Al₂O₃ ≥ 94.5%).
Mainstream model:
7500KVA, melting capacity 10–25 tons, furnace shell inner diameter 3000–3600mm.
Purpose
It is used for smelting brown fused alumina and high-alumina fused alumina abrasives and refractory materials. The products are widely applied in abrasive tools manufacturing, glass kiln refractory lining, metallurgical nozzles and wear-resistant parts.
Structural Features
- Furnace body: Welded steel plate structure with dry composite insulation lining, thin-shell tilting design, heavy load and high temperature resistance.
- Furnace roof: Water-cooled low smoke hood, equipped with electrode holes, feeding holes and smoke exhaust holes.
- Discharging: Hydraulic tilting type, maximum forward tilting angle 45°, adopting continuous pouring process with low energy consumption and good crystal quality.
- Cooling system: External spray cooling for furnace body + water cooling for furnace roof and cross arm, with pressure and temperature alarm function.
Main Components
- Furnace Body: Welded steel shell, discharge spout, thermal insulation lining and external spray cooling system.
- Electrode Lifting System: Hydraulic / frequency conversion drive with PLC automatic adjustment, fast response and stable control; equipped with HP high-power graphite electrodes.
- Short Network System: Water-cooled cables and steel-copper composite cross arm, with low and balanced three-phase impedance.
- Hydraulic System: Working pressure 12–16MPa, used for furnace body tilting and electrode clamping.
- Feeding System: Top / side feeding mode, matched with batching bin and conveying equipment.
- Control System: PLC + industrial computer, real-time monitoring of voltage, current, temperature and cooling parameters.
Working Principle
Three graphite electrodes generate electric arc after power-on. The ultra-high temperature above 2000℃ melts the mixed raw materials of bauxite, coke and iron filings. Reduction reaction removes impurities such as silicon, iron and titanium to form brown fused alumina molten liquid with Al₂O₃ ≥ 95%.
The molten liquid is poured, cooled, crushed and magnetic separated to obtain finished products.
