The Stabbing guide allows for faster and easier punctures and increases protection against puncture damage to threaded connections.

An automatically adjusting latch secures the Stabbing guide to both new and worn OD boxes, and a spring-loaded lever releases the guide upon triggering for quick removal after puncture.

When puncturing pipe fittings, the geometry of the Stabbing guide ensures perfect connection between the two fittings, allowing them to be screwed together and properly tightened.

When referring to the geometry of the Stabbing guide, there are always two main features: the through-hole (top) and the countersunk hole (bottom).

The countersunk hole slides across and rests on the OD box end (female) of the pipe, while the through-hole guide pin thread (male) aligns with the OD box thread. It is common practice to make both the through-hole and countersunk holes from a robust and durable material with a degree of elasticity. These types of materials vary considerably; care should be taken to select one capable of withstanding all possible operating conditions, including extreme temperatures, drilling fluids, corrosive chemicals, water, impact, fatigue, etc.
