These are cementing plugs used in oilfield cementing operations. The red one is the bottom plug, and the black one is the top plug. They are core tools for isolating drilling fluid from cement slurry and cleaning the casing inner wall during cementing jobs.

Color Coding: Industry standard uses red for bottom plugs and black/blue for top plugs for quick field identification. 2. Working Sequence: The bottom plug is first released to isolate drilling fluid from cement slurry. Cement slurry is pumped, followed by the top plug to push the slurry. The two plugs "bump" at the casing shoe to complete displacement. 3. Drillability: The plug core is made of easily drillable material, which can be milled out after cementing without affecting subsequent operations.
