Inconel 718 Nickel Alloy Sheets Overview
Inconel 718 is a Gamma Prime strengthened alloy with exceptional mechanical properties at both elevated and cryogenic temperatures, suitable for applications up to approximately 1300°F. This versatile alloy can be readily worked and age hardened, offering excellent strength from -423°F to 1300°F (-253°C to 705°C).
The material is age hardenable and can be welded in fully aged condition, with excellent oxidation resistance up to 1800°F (980°C). Typically supplied in solution annealed temper, Inconel 718 can also be ordered in aged, cold worked, or cold worked and aged conditions.
Inconel 718 Plate conforms to AMS 5596/5597 standards with UNS designation N07718. This nickel-chromium alloy, enhanced with aluminum addition, demonstrates high mechanical properties in extremely hot environments. Common applications include jet engine and gas turbine operations, cryogenic storage tanks, downhole shafts, and wellhead parts.
