Stainless steel strip coil is one of the most versatile forms that metal can take. It is used in all kinds of sectors including automotive, catering and construction in addition to several engineered applications. Products that can be made from stainless steel strips include surgical instruments, springs, flexible tubing, filtration devices, cutlery and heating elements.

Performance Characteristics:

- Corrosion resistance: It has excellent corrosion resistance to most corrosive media and can resist wet chlorine, various oxidizing chlorides, chloride salt solutions, sulfuric acid, and oxidizing salts. It is one of the few materials that can resist the corrosion of wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide solutions.
- High temperature resistance: It has a high melting point and good high-temperature performance, can maintain excellent mechanical properties in high-temperature environments, and can withstand high temperature and high pressure.
- Processing performance: It can perform cutting, welding, bending and other processing operations. The welding performance is similar to that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel, but the work hardening speed is faster than that of ordinary stainless steel. Annealing treatment is required during cold forming processing.
- Mechanical properties: At different temperatures, the mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and hardness show excellent performance. For example, at 20 ℃, the tensile strength is not less than 690MPa, the yield strength is not less than 310MPa, the elongation is not less than 35%, and the hardness does not exceed 115HB.

Stainless Steel Strip Coil Finishes:

There are several different finishing options for stainless steel strips from BS Stainless, including:

Bright Annealed (BA). Cold-rolled and annealed in a controlled atmosphere, the defining characteristic of the BA finish is its high reflectivity.
Hot Rolled (HR). HR-finished strip coil has a scaled appearance and so is used when an attractive aesthetic is not a key concern.
2B. The most widely-used finish, 2B is characterised by its reflective, smooth grey sheen.
2D. As a matte finish, 2D displays a low level of reflectivity.
2E. This finish has a slightly rough, dull visual appearance.

Application:

- In the field of chemical engineering, it is used to manufacture components and catalytic systems that come into contact with organic compounds containing chlorides, as well as equipment components that work in high-temperature, impurity mixed inorganic and organic acid environments.
- Petroleum industry: pipelines, storage tanks, reaction vessels, etc. used in the process of oil extraction and processing to withstand various corrosive media.
- Environmental protection industry: can be used in flue gas desulfurization equipment, sewage treatment equipment, etc., to resist the erosion of corrosive media such as acid and alkali.
- Pharmaceutical industry: used to manufacture corrosion-resistant equipment such as reaction vessels, pipelines, storage containers, etc. in the pharmaceutical process.
- Aerospace: Used for manufacturing components that need to withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments, such as engine components, fuel storage systems, etc.
