GE..AX Thrust Spherical Plain Bearing With Lubricating Oil Groove
Maintenance-required bearing with lubricating groove designed for heavy-duty applications requiring radial and unidirectional axial (combined) loads.
Product Overview
GE..AX bearings are thrust joint bearings engineered to withstand unidirectional axial loads or combined loads. Featuring self-aligning capabilities, they are ideal for low-speed swing and heavy load conditions. The design includes a flat-bottomed seat with lubricating oil holes on the inner ring and a spherical structure on the outer ring, effectively compensating for installation errors and structural deformations.
Material Specifications
- Both outer and inner rings manufactured from carbon chromium steel
- Hardened and phosphorization treatment for enhanced durability
- Outer ring features lubricating groove and holes with two cross lubricating grooves on sliding surface
- Sliding surface treated with MoS2 for improved performance

GE..AX is equivalent to GX..S.
Product Features
- Load Capacity: Simultaneously withstands large radial loads and unidirectional axial loads (combined loads)
- Adjustment Angle: Typically 1°~4.5°, depending on model size (larger sizes have smaller angles)
- Operating Conditions: Suitable for low-speed swing (<600 swing/min) and reciprocating motion, not recommended for high-speed rotation
- Lubrication Method: Requires regular addition of lubricating grease through oil groove and oil hole; recommended lithium-based or extreme pressure lubricating grease
- Temperature Range: Standard range from -30°C to +120°C, up to 150°C under extreme conditions
Important Note: This bearing type cannot withstand bidirectional axial loads. For bidirectional loading requirements, install in pairs in reverse orientation.
Application Information
Common Applications
- Construction Machinery: Excavator arm connections, loader steering knuckles, crane pivot points
- Automotive Systems: Balance bridge suspension, steering rod joints, transmission shaft universal joints
- Industrial Equipment: Welding robot joints, rotary table supports, hydraulic cylinder hinge points
- Mining & Metallurgy: Crusher swing arms, conveyor hinges, steel rolling equipment connection parts
Installation Guidelines
Align Installation Direction: Ensure the lubrication groove on the outer ring is oriented toward a position convenient for later maintenance (upward or lateral) to facilitate lubricating grease addition.
Use Specialized Tools for Press Fit: Apply force smoothly and vertically to avoid inner ring deformation or spherical surface damage from eccentric load. Control pressing speed at 0.1-0.3 mm/s to prevent impact-induced coating peeling or retaining frame damage.
Precautions for Paired Installation: For equipment requiring bidirectional axial force resistance, install two GAC.S bearings back-to-back or face-to-face in pairs with consistent preload force to prevent eccentric wear.
Purchasing Guide
- Model Selection: Select based on load requirements with priority given to rated dynamic load CC, ensuring C > 1.2 * Peq (equivalent load)
- Safety Factor: Increase to 1.5 times or more for high-impact working conditions
- Lubrication Maintenance: In dusty environments, add lubricating grease every 500 hours
- Extended Maintenance: Models with sealing rings (such as -2RS) can extend lubrication intervals
