Slip On Flange Characteristic
A neck flat welding flange, also known as a slip on flange, refers to a type of flange in which steel pipes are inserted into the inner ring of the flange for connection. It is fixed to the pipeline through two internal and external fillet welds, and its main advantage is that on-site alignment and installation are relatively convenient, which can eliminate the complex weld detection process. Compared with butt welded flanges, it has lower stiffness and load-bearing capacity, making it more suitable for working conditions with relatively mild temperature and pressure. It is an economical and practical connection choice.
SO Flange Application in Pressure Vessels
In the manufacturing of pressure vessels, F321 neck flat welding flanges are often used for connecting the pipe openings of equipment cylinders or heads. Thanks to the excellent high temperature resistance and intergranular corrosion resistance of F321 material, this type of flange is particularly suitable for pressure vessels that require high-temperature operation (425-850 ° C) and cannot be subjected to subsequent heat treatment.
