Q: How do SMLSCO's products demonstrate cost advantages while ensuring quality?
Answer: We optimize costs through bulk procurement of raw materials and efficient inventory management, and are committed to providing high-quality and cost-effective procurement solutions for global distributors.
SMLSCO Quality Control&Testing
For high-performance materials such as 2205 duplex steel, we implement strict quality control procedures to ensure that their performance meets standards. We use 100% PMI for material identification to prevent mixing. Each tube undergoes hydrostatic testing or non-destructive testing to ensure its pressure bearing capacity. At the same time, we conduct precise inspections on the dimensional tolerances and surface quality of our products, and can provide metallographic analysis, mechanical performance testing, etc. according to customer requirements to ensure that every batch of products delivered complies with ASTM A789 standards.

Advantages of Duplex Stainless Steel
The unique feature of duplex stainless steel is that its metallographic structure is composed of approximately 50% austenite and 50% ferrite. This dual phase structure combines the advantages of two types of stainless steel: it has the good toughness and weldability of austenitic stainless steel, as well as the high strength and excellent stress corrosion cracking (SCC) resistance of ferritic stainless steel. This "win-win" characteristic enables duplex steel to provide a more reliable and economical solution than conventional austenitic stainless steel in harsh corrosive environments.
Material Properties of Duplex 2205
2205 is currently the most widely used duplex stainless steel grade. Its yield strength is more than twice that of conventional austenitic stainless steels such as 316L, which means that thinner wall thickness designs can be used in pressure applications, effectively reducing structural weight and saving costs. Its high chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo), and nitrogen (N) content brings extremely strong resistance to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion (PREN ≥ 35). Especially outstanding is that it is almost immune to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in chloride containing environments, solving a major problem for traditional stainless steel in marine and other environments.
