DC51D+Az 55% Steel - Aluzinc Steel Coil
What is Galvalume or Zincalume Steel?
Also known as galvalume or zincalume steel, aluzinc steel is a form of cold-rolled galvanized steel with a metal coating composed of 55% aluminum, 43% zinc, and 1.6% silicon. Its unique composition gives aluzinc steel distinctive features by combining the physical protection and high durability of aluminum with the electrochemical protection of zinc.
Aluzinc is the world's fastest-growing metallic coating. This is due to the combined strength, formability, and recyclability of steel with the proven long-term anti-corrosion performance of the AI-Zn alloy coating. This combination results in an economical product with superior eco-friendliness attributes of durability, recyclability, energy efficiency, and scarce resource utilization.
Features
Aluzinc has a clean, natural, and bright silvery surface. The surface includes small spangles that give it a lustrous and striking appearance as light conditions change.

Product Benefits
- Corrosion Resistance: Aluzinc steel coils are more corrosion-resistant than standard galvanized steel coils. The aluminum in the coating acts as a protective barrier, while the zinc acts as a sacrificial layer, adding an extra layer of corrosion resistance.
- High Heat Resistance: Aluzinc steel coils have extremely high heat resistance, allowing them to survive high temperatures without major structural changes.
- Formability and Machinability: Aluzinc steel coils have extremely high formability and are easily formed without cracking or breaking. This property makes them suitable for a variety of production procedures, such as bending, roll forming, and stamping.
- Aesthetic Versatility: With a smooth, shiny surface, Aluzinc steel coils offer aesthetic versatility. They can be coated in a variety of colors, coatings, and textures, offering unique solutions to match architectural designs and personal tastes.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is "White Rust" and is it a defect?
White rust (Wet Storage Stain) is a white powdery deposit formed when Galvalume gets wet while tightly coiled or stacked. If it's light, it's usually cosmetic; if heavy, it may compromise the coating.
2. Does Galvalume require regular maintenance?
Very little. However, areas not washed by natural rainfall (like under eaves) should be rinsed with fresh water annually to remove accumulated salts and dust.
3. What kind of fasteners should be used with Galvalume?
Always use high-quality stainless steel or zinc-aluminum capped fasteners. Never use carbon steel fasteners as they will rust and stain the panels.
4. How should Galvalume coils or sheets be stored?
They should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area. If stored outdoors, they must be tilted to allow water drainage and covered with a breathable tarp.
5. Is Galvalume steel recyclable?
Yes, it is 100% recyclable. It can be melted down at the end of its life to produce new steel without any loss in quality.
