Capacitor Discharge Stud Welding Insulation Pins, also called cup head weld pins, are widely used to fasten insulation materials onto metal ducts. Cup head weld pins are welded to the metal after they pierce through the insulation and make contact with the surface.

A Capacity Discharge Stud Welding Machine (CD) is necessary for use with these pins. Pins have a paper washer or can be plastic coated to prevent sparking caused by FRK paper.
