Description
Constant-Pressure Robotic Polishing Machine For Car Mount
Car mounts look simple, but they are plating-critical parts. A phone mount, dash mount or antenna base is die-cast, then chrome- or anodized — and any scratch, flash line or inconsistent prep on the raw casting shows up as a rejected plating job. Our constant-pressure robotic polishing cell is built for exactly this class of work: multi-SKU die-cast parts that need flash removal, edge deburring and a uniform prep surface before finishing. Closed-loop pressure holds contact force steady across the whole part, so the surface that enters the plating line is identical part after part — and your plating yield stops being a gamble.
Integrated Flash Removal & Deburring
Die-cast mounts arrive with flash, parting lines and sprue marks — all of which become plating defects if missed. The cell removes them in the same cycle as the polish: constant-pressure wheels take off flash and parting-line burrs, then blend the surface to a uniform prep finish. No separate deburring step, no hand bench.
  • Flash & parting-line removal integrated in the polishing cycle
  • Edge deburring on holes, slots & mounting lugs
  • No secondary hand-touch before the plating line
Constant Pressure Robotic Polishing Machine For Precision Car Mount Surface Finishing
Precision Pressure Control
The risk with car mounts is over-polishing: thin section, soft zinc alloy, one heavy pass and you've burned through the skin. Constant-pressure control caps the contact force, so thin walls and detailed faces get the same light, even pass as the flat faces. The result is a predictable prep surface — and predictable plating adhesion.
  • Closed-loop ±0.5 N pressure limit
  • Consistent prep surface → plating yield improvement
  • No over-polish burn-through on thin die-cast sections
Multi-SKU Flexibility
A mount factory usually runs 20-50 SKUs: dash, vent, magnetic, mirror, antenna bases. One cell handles them all with quick-change fixtures and a program library — switch SKU in under 15 minutes, no mechanical retooling.
  • Quick-change fixture plate per SKU family
  • Program library: teach once, run every batch
  • Mixed-model scheduling for small-batch, many-SKU production
Material-Specific Process Optimization
Zinc die-cast (Zamak) is soft and needs lighter pressure, finer abrasives and a gentler path than steel. Our application team pre-programs a zinc-alloy process package: pressure limits, wheel speeds and abrasive grades matched to Zamak 3 / 5 — so you don't tune it yourself.
  • Pre-tuned process package for Zamak 3 / 5
  • Aluminum & stainless mount options supported
  • Consumables selected per material & surface (satin / brushed / prep)
Frequently Asked Questions
Can it handle many different mount SKUs on one machine?
Yes. The cell uses quick-change fixture plates and a program library. Switching from a dash mount to a vent mount takes under 15 minutes — no mechanical retooling, just a fixture plate swap and program call.
Zinc die-cast is soft — will polishing damage thin sections?
No. Constant-pressure control caps the contact force at a pre-set limit, so thin walls and detailed faces receive the same light, even pass as flat areas. Over-polish burn-through is prevented by design, not by operator skill.
Do we still need a separate deburring step for flash and parting lines?
No. Flash and parting-line removal is integrated into the polishing cycle. Parts leave the cell deburred and prepped — ready for the plating line.
What surface should parts have before chrome plating?
For most zinc die-cast car mounts, a uniform satin prep at Ra 0.1-0.3 µm gives the best plating adhesion and appearance. We tune the process package to your target and validate on your actual parts.
How long does it take to set up a new mount model?
A new SKU is programmed offline in 1-2 days, including fixture design. For your first 5 SKUs we provide the fixture and program as part of the turnkey package.
Can we send samples for a trial before ordering?
Yes. Send 5-10 representative parts and we run a free trial in our application lab — you receive finished, plating-ready samples plus cycle-time and yield data for your evaluation.
