ED Type Silicon Carbide Rod
Compared with traditional heating elements, the ED-type silicon carbide rods possess numerous remarkable advantages.
Firstly, in terms of materials, the ED-type silicon carbide rods are mainly made of silicon carbide, while other elements may use different materials. This enables the silicon carbide rods to have a superior performance in high-temperature resistance. Its equal-diameter structural characteristic is also unique. The diameters of the heating part and the cold end are the same, ensuring the uniformity of heat distribution. In contrast, some traditional heating elements may have the problem of uneven heating.
The heating part of the silicon carbide rod is formed by pressing and sintering high-purity silicon carbide particles through special processes, and the internal conductive network is more stable and efficient. In comparison, the heating mechanisms of some traditional elements may not be stable enough.
In terms of the working principle, when an electric current passes through, the ED-type silicon carbide rods rely on their own resistance characteristics to convert electrical energy into thermal energy, with a remarkable heating effect. When heated in the air, they can reach a high temperature of around 1400℃ - 1500℃ and form an antioxidant silicon dioxide film, thus prolonging the service life. However, other elements may be prone to damage at high temperatures or lack an effective antioxidant protection mechanism.
